Busy Monday

Good afternoon all! I pray that each of you have had a blessed day!

For us the day has been a busy one. Barn chores to do first thing. Then inside to eat homemade buttermilk pancakes and maple syrup. Then off to work my oldest son goes and drops the girls off at their job at a barn. Once they texted Liz and myself went and picked them up and off to post office to send a letter. Back home to finish the days work. The house is in order floors cleaned, bathroom taken care of, windows on inside clean, and all laundry done and hanging!!!

On the menu tonight is bean burgers served on homemade sour dough bread, Mac and cheese. I made a pound cake with peppermint icing for dessert.

Hanging In the kitchen is a nice pound of yogurt cheese!! I love to see these simple things just laying around my house.

For my family we are trying to lower if not wipe out the use of convince foods. We have tried to make a return to more natural real food. I have to say I love the fact that my grocery list is getting smaller and smaller. Basic items is all we need. I also love looking into my kitchen and seeing jars of cookies, crackers and things like this for the kids to snack on. Then when I open the frig I don't see packages of Kraft no there is containers of homemade cheese from our goats!!! We know what we are eating!!! Makes a mom feel good!!!

Well enough of that I had better go for now. Have a blessed afternoon all!!!

Good night all

Well the day has came to a close. The boys are at the fire station for their weekly meeting. The girls are watching DVD with a friend and mom is wiped out and ready for bed.

Tomorrow will be a busy day as there is bills to pay, chores here to do. Sewing to work on. I am praying I will get to work on my tee shirt rug.

I was able to bake up four loaves of bread today so won't have to do any until Saturday. But I do need to make some English muffins. God willing I will be working on some yogurt tomorrow afternoon also.

So far that is what our day will look like?? But on a good note most of it will be spent at home!!!! Praise god!!
Good afternoon all! I pray that each of you  have had a blessed Christmas and the new year has been a huge blessing to you all!!

It has been a while since I have wrote and i am sorry for that! Life has had a way of really passing me by and my time seems to be more and more taken up.

There has been much work going on here at the little homestead, we have done as much canning this past year as possible. Well over 1200 jars of food has been put up this year. Not as much as i would like but hey it is a start right. We have been blessed with one milking goat and also two other goats that will in time be able to be milked. We have expanded with a small billy goat but he is more a pet than a goat. The farm is also blessed with chickens, duck and three mini pigs that will also be raised to use for breeders. And now we are waiting to expand our farm with three wonderful breeder rabbits.

The coming months will be working on expanding our garden area for more food, expanding the other garden area for more herbs for medical use and kitchen use. Working on boxing in our porch to make a area  for the kids to have there tv and games. And we will be working on getting more animals to expand the farm.

The children are doing good. Elizabeth just got back from ohio where she spent time with some dear friends of our. She had a blassed. Jackie and Becky are still working at the barn and taking care of animals. Steven and james are still working at the store and they are now part of the volinteer fire dept. They love it and i am thrilled at the fact that they are giving back to our local area. they will seen start their training to drive the trucks then they will have training for medical calls. I am so proud of each one of my children.

Christmas for us was a simple one. We made most of our christmas gifts and tried to make it a simple one and i have to admit it loved the fact that it was so simple.

As far as mom goes well i am just doing what i feel god is leading me to do. Stay home as much as possible and take care of my home and family. I just got over the flu and well to say the least i dont want that again. But other than that god is in control of everything.

That gives you a little bit about the going on around here. I will do my best to update pictures and add more about the farm and the daily events of our little place.

Remember in all things great and small god is in control!!! Have a blessed day all<3 font="font">
