Christmas is in the air

Good Sunday morning all. Christmas is in the air. Last night the kids had friend over for the foot ball game. You know here in Alabama everything shuts down for the iron bowl.. lol.. I had ten kids here i think i was a little out numbered but they all had a great time. I cooked bbq meat balls, chocolate cake, chili cheese dip and we had chips. Nothing fancy but they seemed to like it..

While the children watched that i was working on Christmas gifts to give out to those who come into my house between now and Christmas. So far i have angel father ord, snoopy ord and i have my Christmas ear rings. I am going to be working on my Santa ord tonight.

I just love this time of year. I always feel like pulling all my ideas out and just start working on them again. the great things is some of the things i can do while resting... with this cancer and treatments i seem to have to rest a lot and that gets on my nerves so badly..

My children beg me to not wear them to town.... I am so crazy at christmas between them and a santa hat of choice is what i love to wear... I so love the holiday time.... more pictures to come....

Good Monday morning

Well today I turned the big 41... wow.. i made it to another birthday. Thank you god for another day to spend with my children and those i love. It is so hard to believe i have five children ages 22,21,19,18,and 17.. It is so hard to believe that God has brought us past so much in these past five years.. So many heart aches yet so much joy.. I heard the old country music song live like you were dieing i think we all need to live life that way.. life it to the fullest, live it for god to honor him.. To show his light... if we all thought of life like we had cancer and that we didnt know how long we had left what would we want others to remember about us?? what would we want our heavenly father to say to us when we got to be by his side.. Wow can you only dream of what this world would be like??? My birthday wish is simple and that is for those people who have been there for me who have helped take care of me in my times of need for them to have a week of peace and joy that passes all understanding... Lord knows they have brought so much joy into my life and so much peace into my life while we are dealing with these health issues... God bless you all and have a blessed and sweet day<3

I have been so blessed. My children painting my room for me and my dear friend bought this picture to go above my bed for my birthday. The another dear friend gave me this lighted up garland makes such a wonderful headboard for my bed. this week my oldest son is going to work on a wood head board for me out of old wood. Oh i am a happy mom..

Good Sunday Morning all

I pray that each of you have had a blessed sunday morning. The party for my daughter and my self went wonderful last night. i have to say i feel so blessed and so loved by my friends and children. the children had a great time and laughed and were just children. The woman had a great time just sitting and chatting and listening to the kids. I am honestly blessed.. Here are some pictures of last night.

Saturday

Well we are preparing for my daughter birthday party. I will post pictures tomorrow. It is hard to believe that today she is 22 years old.

So we are cooking hotdogs, chips, mac and cheese, cake, brownies, corn on cob, dip, ice cream, nothing fancy just a fun time for the kids and adults i pray.

I am feeling worn down to say the least. i think i might have pushed myself a little to far but like all moms i will push forward..

love to all kids are starting to show up.. i think there will be about fourty here tonight.. :)

Thursday Breakfast

Woke up to a nice cool morning. Started the day out with warming the oven for homemade buttermilk biscuits that sure makes the house smell so sweet. Then peeled a few potatoes and made some cornbeef hash to go along. Good hardy meal for the children to start their day.

Today is a doctors apt for me. yeah not.. lol.. The children will work on painting the smaller room with leftover paint for dear old mom. It is just me in there so i dont need the larger room. I am giving my master bedroom to the girls as well there is three of them and honestly they need more room. Also my oldest daughter is sleeping right now on our sleeper sofa in the living room and that is just not good. So after today they will be in the larger room and mom will be in one of the smallest rooms of the house. The great thing about doing this is one i get to clean out more junk to go to the local thrift store and i get my feeling of clean ness and just simple that i am wanting and longing for.

As we are working on moms room we will also go over all the girls stuff and down size their items and just rethink how we do their room. I will help work on things once i am back from doctors if lord willing and i have the engery if not i will push myself anyway... lol.. that is what i do.. that is what us moms do...

With the cold temps the animals are eating more food this morning. To warm their bones i am sure. So i have to run by and pick up a few things of animals feed while i am out. And since i didnt do it yesterday due to storms i have got to go and get my license renewed.. oh the joy new picture.. hummm not sure i like that one..

So as you can tell it is going to be a busy day around here on the little farm and out and about with doctors and such. I pray that each of you have a blessed and wonderful day.

Good Wednesday Morning

Good Morning all. I pray that each of you had a restful night. This morning is off to a big bang. Rebecca, Jackie and Steven are off to the barn to do the work there. Thank God for their job there. Elizabeth is off to her baby sitting job again another huge blessing. James and I are home cleaning and getting ready for the day. When the children get home they will eat breakfast. This morning it is cinnamon oatmeal and sausage. I ran out of bread and honestly just have not had the time to bake some. With all these doctors apt i have been having i feel like what little time i have at home needs to be spent on other things yet now we have no bread humm maybe i need to rethink that... lol... Chemo today yeah... not.. lol...

So around the homestead the horse has been taken care of for the morning. The chickens, rabbits and goats have all been tended to. Along with the pig, ferrett, dogs and cats.

The house has been swept and mopped for the first time today. And most of laundry is washed and being dried in the dryer. i hate useing it but with the weather dont really have a choice. James is sweeping and mopping the porch now.

After breakfast there is school for the children and i have to go to the post office, then to get my license renewed, then to chemo. Yep it is a full day to say the least.

Dinner tonight will be simple i am going to make green beans and biscuits for the family to take to the church thanksgiving day dinner. Thank God for that tonight as with the day i am going to have eating is not going to be a big thing for me.

Beside my bed is my grandmothers sewing michine that i learned to sew on. it is one of those prize items to me. My tv is in a old china cabinet that the children and i turned into a tv cabinet. The top picture is a canning jar i use to hold a candle. i so love the country look of it. and then my coffee area. Me and my coffee are a team. ;)

Crocheted rugs

Here is two of my latest crocheted rugs. I so love these and to make them is so easy. I am now starting to work on a large one for my living room. I use only reused clothing and old sheets for my rugs. This way they cost me nothing except for my time. My goal is to have these in the whole house. It just makes a house feel so warm and inviting. have a blessed day.

Tuesday doctors Visit

Hello all, I pray that each of you have had a blessed day. Well went to the doctor today and found out that i get to have a few more test on my heart. It is all going to be ok i have such faith honestly.

Around the homestead we have pulled down kitchen cabinets that well needed to come down as some were falling on my head no joke. We put in open shelves and the children painted the walls and bottom cabinets. I have to admit i so love my kitchen. Now to work on the bedroom and the bathroom. little bits of things here and there to make this house a home for the children and i.

Hello all

Well i will make this my first blog post here, I will start with telling a little about myself. I am a single mom rasing five kids. I love being a mom more than anything else. I am in the last year of homeschooling two of my children. I have had a few health issues and have been taught that no matter what god is in control. we live on acre of land and have seven dogs, two cats, pig, rabbits, chickens, ducks, milking goat, and my daughter raises rats to sell. we are a different family as we dont do things the easy way as most i guess.

things we have been working on is canning vegs and fruits. i so love looking in my pantry and seeing all the wonderful foods either we have grown and canned or foods that our friends have grown and we have canned. my goal is to can as much and freeze as much food as possible for my family.
